Ever scroll through social media and feel like you’re missing out? We’ve all been there. That gnawing envy of someone else’s perfect vacation picture, their perfect body, their blissful life and the ache of “where did I go wrong?” swirling in your mind.
What if I told you there’s a better way?
A way to find peace and fulfilment, free from the clutches of FOMO?
The Bible assures us that those who fear God lack nothing
Psalm 34:9
When we place our trust in Him, we can rest assured that He sees us and has a plan for our lives. He longs to lavish us with good things, not just material possessions, but true joy, purpose, and a deep sense of belonging.
All good things are yours (1 Cor 3:21). Your loving Heavenly Father longs to lavish you with good things. He sees you. You can trust Him.
Here’s how to combat FOMO and embrace God’s abundance:
- Focus on gratitude, not envy. Praise God for all that you have. Make a daily habit of journaling your gratitude for all He has given you with and celebrate the great things He has blessed others with free from envy.
- Put your hope in God, not fleeting trends. True security comes from a relationship with Him, not the ever-changing desires of the world. He promises you will lack nothing (Ps 34:9). Believe this truth.
- Find joy in the present. Don’t get caught up in the “what ifs.” Trust that God is working in your life, even when you can’t see it. No good thing does He withhold from you (Ps 84:11).
Remember, you are not alone. God sees you, He loves you, and He has a beautiful plan for your life. By putting your hope in Him, you can break free from the chains of FOMO and experience true peace and fulfilment. He richly provides everything you need for your enjoyment (1 Tim 6:17).
