From Doubt to Worship: “Wow!” not “How?”

Many of us have moments in our life when we find ourselves in disbelief, questioning the reality around us. It often happens when we encounter something beyond our comprehension, something divine. This blog post is about such a journey, a journey from doubt to worship, from ‘No way!’ to ‘Wow!’

“Jesus is dead! How can we go and see Him?”

The disciples had spent a lot of time with Jesus, they knew him well. They learnt so much from him and had been challenged and changed in so many ways. But now they have witnessed him die. The man they had come to know suffered a horrible death upon a cross. His dead body is inside the tomb. They had a promise they would see him again, but for now He is gone.

Obedience above all else

‘How can they see Jesus when they have witnessed Him die?’ This question might have plagued the disciples. Yet, they go to Galilee to the mountain to see Jesus, just as He had instructed them to do. ‘To see Him?! But how? How is it even possible? Jesus has died!’ One can only imagine what they would be thinking, what they would be feeling, what they would be expecting.

Whenever we find ourselves in a situation that feels impossible or unreasonable, it’s natural to question, to doubt. But how do we respond? Do we hesitate, or do we trust and obey?

From Doubt to Worship

The disciples knew Jesus, they’d spent time with Him. He’d told them what was going to happen. Yet, what was their response when they saw Him alive again?

When they saw him they worshipped him; but some doubted.

Matthew 28:19

Worship without hesitation. ‘Hesitation’ means ‘to delay due to uncertainty of mind or fear’. It’s doubt! We cannot afford to doubt or hesitate when we hear God speak to us. When God speaks, we should choose ‘yes’ without hesitation. Instead of asking ‘How?’ we should exclaim ‘Wow!’

Obeying the Voice of God without Hesitation

It’s all about faith and trust. Like the disciples, we may find ourselves in disbelief, asking, ‘No way! How?’. But the challenge is to transform that disbelief into obedience, into worship. When they saw him they worshipped him; but some doubted. (Matthew 28:19).

So, the next time you find yourself questioning, doubting, remember the disciples’ journey from ‘No way!’ to ‘Wow!’. Remember to

obey and worship without hesitation

Because when we trust and obey, we are rewarded with divine revelation and blessings.
