You are precious and honoured in my sight, and I love you.
Isaiah 43:4
Have you ever stared at your garden, overwhelmed by the sight of weeds choking out your carefully planted flowers? Maybe you’ve felt the same way about your life, discouraged by challenges and imperfections never quite feeling like you are displaying who you really are.
Consider this powerful perspective shift that can change everything:
From Weeds to Wonder
Imagine walking through your garden, filled with disappointment at the weeds. You grab your scissors, ready to eradicate them. But then, you pause. You shift your perspective and look closer. Suddenly, you see delicate flowers hidden amongst the weeds, their vibrant colours and unique shapes transforming your perception. That’s exactly what happened as I looked into my garden overwhelmed by the weeds.
See with His Eyes
Remember, God sees us differently. He doesn’t just see weeds.
The Lord is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in love… He does not treat us as our sins deserve.
Psalm 103
He sees the masterpiece He created.
For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.
Ephesians 2:10
Embrace the Process
There will always be weeds in our gardens and imperfections in our lives. But that doesn’t mean we are disqualified and unable to bring joy and blessing to those around us.
Trust Him to nourish us so we will bear much fruit. Stay sensitive to the Holy Spirit and willing to pull out the weeds when He shows them to us. But most of all, trust Him. He sees the beauty within us, even when we can’t.
Know who He Says you are
You are not defined by the weeds.
You are precious and honoured in His sight
Isaiah 43:4
See with God’s eyes. You are His masterpiece. He is so proud of you. You are the apple of His eye and He longs to reveal His glory and power through you.
What weeds are you facing today?
How can you shift your perspective to see the beauty God is working in you?
What verses inspire you to see yourself as God sees you?
Encourage someone today and tell them the beautiful things you can see God working in them. It might be just what they need to hear to help them move from weeds to wonder.
